The AI-Cup award ceremony took place on 11.10.2022 at Design Office Atlas, Munich, to celebrate the AI-Cup winning teams. The event started with congratulatory talks from Prof. Dr Harald Kosch, AI-Cup Project Head and Vice-President of the University of Passau, Prof. Dr Ulrich Bartosch, President of the University of Passau, Melanie Huml, State Minister for European and International Affairs, Corinne Pereira, French General Consul in Munich, Roland Weigert (Video Message), State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and Catherine Briat, Vice-President, Head of Public Affairs European Union and Germany at Atos. After that, the winning teams pitched their business idea and received their AI-Cup certificates from the officials. Most importantly, the teams had interesting exchanges among each other and networked with the experts & guests. Many thanks to Bay France and State Chancellery for sponsoring the event. We thank all the guests and involved partners and wish the winning teams all the best for their start-up journey.
After a month-long preparation of the business plan, the AI-Cup teams pitched their business idea on the 13th of September with the virtual presence of a panel of entrepreneurial jury, data providers from E.ON, CEA, Trading Hub Europe, representatives from ATOS and ENS Paris-Saclay. After the interesting rapid pitch and feedback session, the event has ended with a panel discussion where the jury finalised the winners of the entrepreneurial challenge together with data providers and technology partners. We thank the jury and other partners for their tremendous support. We also thank all the participating teams for their exciting contributions and pitches.
The AI-Cup Public Opening Event took place virtually on the 9th of March 2022 with the presence of the Consul General of France, Mrs Corinne Pereira, and the virtual presence of data providers from E.ON, Deutsche Bahn, Trading Hub Europe, CEA, technology partners from ATOS, research partners from ENS Paris-Saclay and other interested participants from Germany and France. The event started with an introduction speech from the Vice president and project leader Prof. Dr. Harald Kosch (Universität Passau). After that, the Consul General of France, Mrs Corinne Pereira, gave a warm and in-depth speech showing her appreciation for the AI-Cup competition. An encouraging video message from Mr Roland Weigert, the vice minister in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, was played to the audience, especially addressing those interested in participating in the AI-Cup competition. After the warm video message, Philipp Bohn, CMO from ATOS, expressed his thoughts on the collaboration with the AI-Cup project and the technological support offered by ATOS. Followed by the introduction session, the overall procedure of the AI-Cup competition was briefed by Prof.Dr. Harald Kosch. Prof. Dr Michael Granitzer from the University of Passau and Prof. Dr Mathilde Mougeot from ENS Paris – Saclay introduced the scientific tasks to the audience. The Entrepreneurial Challenge and the AI-Cup scholarship procedure have been shortly briefed by Sahaya Kulandaisamy and Michael Pleschgatternig from the University of Passau. Finally, the event ended with a Q&A session where the questions from the audience were answered by the AI-Cup organisers from the University of Passau.
